About Mira

Geologist. Mounted Archer. Avid Runner.

This St. Louis native splits her time between crafting steamy MM romance and epic fantasy while managing complex projects in her day job as a remote PM. A self-proclaimed detail enthusiast with a master's degree, she's equally comfortable diving into spreadsheets or world-building.

When not writing, she can be found competing in mounted archery with her two off-the-track Thoroughbreds (or, as she tells her husband, just one bay horse), reading anything from MM romance to locked-room mysteries, or studying linguistics—particularly the fascinating Missouri French (Paw-Paw) dialect.

She lives on a family farm with her husband, parents, the aforementioned horses, a pack of dogs, a flock of chickens that don’t always remain on the property, and one very fat cat. Bring margaritas, and she'll tell you all about her horses... but clear your schedule first.

Writing as Mira Lafontaine, she explores themes of power, belonging, and the complex dynamics of MM romance in her Porte du Coeur series. As Miranda Gahan, her "Whispers of War and Magic" series weaves science and fantasy into intricate tapestries of adventure.
